Camfather Challenge Program Expanded St. Catharines, ON…Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Late Model Series race teams will again be the recipients of bonus dollars from ISKY Cams in 2010. The 2010 Series leads up to the now traditional ISKY Cams Championship Night at Black Rock Speedway in October. In addition is an expanded ISKY Camfather Challenge program. The Challenge was initiated last year for championship night. For 2010 the Challenge will be in effect for all Series tour events. The driver who draws the #1 chip for the A-Main starting position will be offered the ISKY Camfather Challenge. The challenge is to win from the back row. The ISKY bonus will be $300 for the tour opener at Merrittville Speedway on May 22. The bonus will grow by $100 per event until the challenge is met. Any unclaimed challenge bonus money will be added to the season’s end point fund. ISKY Racing Cams (www.IskyCams.com) is the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of racing and performance camshafts and valve train components. Ed Iskendarian established ISKY Racing Cams in Gardena, CA after graduating from Los Angeles Polytechnic High School and serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Initially ISKY catered primarily to drag racing engine builders now ISKY is recognized as a winner in drag, oval, and road racing competition. In the early 1960s a program with Florida drag racer Don Garlits established ISKY Cams as both national and international leader in the high performance camshafts and valve train business. While Garlits was breaking drag racing records with his famous Swamp Rat rail dragsters using ISKY products he became known as “Big Daddy” and Iskendarian became known as the “Camfather.” The Camfather still oversees the ISKY Racing Cams business with his sons, Ron and Richard, leading the day to day operations of design and manufacturing of the constantly changing high performance internal combustion automobile engine business. “We at ISKY Cams are a proud marketing partner of the BRP CanAm Series and believe that the expanded Camfather Challenge will add extra incentive for the drivers and added excitement for the fans at all of the events,” shared Richard Iskendarian from his office at the world headquarters of ISKY Racing Cams in Gardena, California. “We are involved with this Series because of their engine rules (open with simple restrictions) and the great support that the race teams provide to the Series in both the tour and weekly events. I encourage everyone to go to our website (www.ISKYCams.com) to learn more about ISKY Racing Cams and my dad – the Camfather.” The 2010 BRP CanAm Late Model Series is presented by the following marketing partners: Bicknell Racing Products, BC Designs, Bob Mullen’s Pro-Speed, Brzezinski Racing Products, Close Racing Supply, Cousins Designs, Damon’s Dyno’d Race Engines, Dart Machinery, EastCoastSpeed.com, Ed Carley Motorsports, F/A Products, Genesis Racing Shocks, GG&H Motorsports, Hoosier Tires, Landrum Performance Springs, Lias Tire, Mahle Engine Parts, National Parts Peddler, Phair Enterprises, Signs Plus of Kanona, and Wrisco Racing Aluminum. |
