$23,000 BRP CanAm Weekend Set St. Catharines, ONT…Rain at a race track on a race night is never good. All in attendance at Merrittville Speedway last Saturday [August 20] were disappointed with the rainout; however, Speedway and Series management have negotiated a response to Mother Nature that makes the best of the bad situation she created. The rained out A-Main plus a complete new BRP CanAm program is now scheduled for Friday September 9. This creates the first ever doubleheader for the three year old BRP CanAm Series and the largest single night purse - $17,000! The good news does not stop there. The Merrittville Speedway BRP CanAm Series Doubleheader combined with the previously scheduled Saturday September 10 Series event at Genesee Speedway produces a three event weekend which will pay more than $23,000. The rescheduled Merrittville A-Main will pay the previously announced $10,150 with $1125 to win [$1000 promoters purse plus $125 F/A Products – Clevite Engine Builder Award] and $125 to start. The new Merrittville A-Main will pay $1000 to win [$875 promoters purse plus $125 F/A Products – Clevite Engine Builder Award] and $100 to start. The Genesee Speedway A-Main will pay $1125 to win [$1000 promoters purse plus $125 F/A Products – Clevite Engine Builder Award].
