Race Engine Builder Bill Campbell Needs Our Support

Keuka Park, NY…Bill Campbell, a long time friend of auto racing, needs our help. Billy recently had an emergency medical problem which required surgery and several weeks in the hospital. He has just been released from the hospital, but will not be able to resume full time work in his engine shop for several more weeks.

This is a critical busy time for Campbell Race Engines as race teams prepare for the soon upcoming racing season. Billy reports that he is determined to “keep going and get as much work completed for the season openers as possible. Fortunately, we were a little ahead of schedule before this happened and many of my customers already have their new engines.”

When Billy is not in his shop building race engines to make all of his customers race fast he isn’t making any money. Billy and his wife Betsy are the only employees of Campbell Race Engines. Not only is he not making money, but rather than buy health insurance Billy invested that money in equipment for his shop. This is where we can help. A speedy recovery card with or without a check or dollar bill would very much help this racer in a time of need. Cards should be addressed to Bill at 4944 Hackman Road, Dansville, NY 14437

Campbell started his racing career at the B&M Speed Shop in 1964 when he was 12 years old . Learning his trade from masters Bruce Fleschman [B] and Milt Johnson [M] when they were building winning race engines for Richie Evans, Merv Treichler, Jim Rudolph, Bugs Stevens, and other stars of that era. Campbell stayed on-board with B&M during the period that Milt’s boys Alan and Danny started and built their illustrious racing careers. As B&M slowed down with the semi retirement of Bruce and Milt, Campbell moved to Dansville and started his own business. From his modest shop have come race winning engines for DIRT Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stock, 360 sprint cars, and BRP CanAm Super Stocks and more. His current customers have recorded about 80 wins per season for the past five years.

Billy Campbell, a great friend of auto racing with a little bad luck that needs some cheering up. Let’s all help.
