Jack B. Quick Harrington Tops Bradford BRP CanAm Event

Bradford, PA….Jack B. Quick Harrington was the quickest of the 26 car BRP CanAm Super Stockers that competed in the Sunday night Close Racing Supply contest at the historic Bradford Speedway. Harrington earned $1000 for his 30 lap adventure at “The Untamed Action Track.”

“This is without a doubt the biggest and most important win in my racing career. We have been quick here all season and lead in points, but to win this BRP CanAm event with all the best super stock drivers in the area here tonight is just great. We were lucky on the draw [his daughter drew the number four starting position] and that was very important. This is a tough little race track. It is tough to pass here, but tonight you could race anywhere if you had to. Baker and I had the home track advantage that plus starting fourth were most important for the win. This is my first CanAm win. This is just great. Thanks to the track people, the BRP CanAm guys, my crew, and most important my family for this,” reported Harrington from the Victory Circle.

Somehow in a four wide corner move on the first lap Harrington moved from fourth to first and led the entire 30 lap event. Harrington had to survive four caution periods in the first half of the race and then 15 consecutive green flag laps to record the win.

Harrington was driving a Craiger powered GRT Grand Prix that he and his wife, Pam, own. A car that he sponsors with his Harrington Trucking log hauling business.

Ron Baker finished second for his best ever BRP CanAm finish. The 68 year old racing veteran started on the pole, but lost the top spot to Harrington from the preferred outside lane and then dogged the Great Valley, NY driver for 30 laps. Baker was able to get beside the leader on several occasions but without contact was never able to get back to the top spot. His Yorkshire Tire and Battery Rocket Grand Prix came to post race tech without a dent or even a scratch after 30 laps!

Wayne Adamczak brought his B&B Sharptek Warrior Grand Prix home in the show position. New DSE1 power for the Holland, NY electrician and weekend racer has turned his season around. Adamczak was coming off a great ninth place run at Genesee Speedway on Saturday night. Third is his best ever BRP CanAm finish.

Jeremy Wonderling recovered from a forgettable night at Genesee to record a fourth place finish tonight. Wonderling’s Baldwin Forest Products GRT Grand Prix will need some time in the body shop before the Thursday BRP CanAm show at McKean County Raceway.

Bob Dixon, the defending BRP CanAm champion, brought his Duffy’s Inc. GRT Monte Carlo from 12th to fifth at the checker. Dixon, a former Bradford Speedway champion, has logged many miles at the hilltop race place. The quiet guy from Smethport, PA used that experience, some good luck, and a very well prepared race car for his second top five Series finish of the year.

Rounding out the top ten were: Dean Layfield, Jr. Peters, Jason Dupont, Tim Rockwell, and Tim Schram.

Heat race winners were: Jr. Peters, Bob Dixon, and Chad Arnold.

26 cars entered the event, all qualified, only Bo Clark whose Clark Racing Shaw Grand Prix had an oil leak did not start the A-Main.

The next event for the BRP CanAm Super Stock Series is Thursday August 19 at McKean County Raceway as part of the annual McKean County Fair.
